Recycle ME's main objective is to raise awareness of the consequences of human behavior, both through actions and words. Through the impact generated by the size of the piece and the exhibition in public spaces, we seek to contribute to a critical reflection on the urgency of the climate crisis, adopting artistic creation from an activist and social responsibility perspective that underlies the concept of the work. Recycle ME is an installation that combines different forms of expression.
The “Recycle Me” Installation Project has the additional objective of stimulating cultural diversity, promoting artistic projects by creators and performers with different profiles and origins.
In addition to its main mission of raising environmental awareness, Recycle Me seeks to create an inclusive platform for artists from diverse backgrounds, providing a rich and varied cultural expression. By encouraging the participation of creatives with different perspectives and experiences, the project aims to enrich the artistic narrative and promote intercultural understanding, as it is also a global theme.

Through an impactful visual language and the use of recycled materials, the installation seeks to raise awareness of the consequences of excessive consumption and the need to adopt more sustainable practices in our daily lives.
Apoiado pela DGArtes, é um de dois projetos a ser apoiado, no ano de 2024, pela Direção Geral das Artes, na categoria – Artes Visuais na Região da Madeira, o que revela a importância artistíca deste projeto.
The participation of schools and the local community makes this installation even more special, demonstrating the importance of collaboration for a more sustainable future. The installation, which resembles a labyrinth of colors and textures, invites the public on a journey of self-discovery and connection with nature.
A Platform for Artistic Diversity
“Recycle ME” goes beyond environmental awareness and celebrates cultural diversity, bringing together artists from diverse backgrounds and disciplines. The installation features the participation of visual artists with a long history and voice in the area of intervention in nature and environmental preservation activism, such as Evangelina Sirgado de Sousa and Fátima Spínola. The interventions also include the participation of secondary schools such as Francisco Franco and APEL.
The international dimension of the project is evident in the selection of short films, the result of an Open Call that attracted artists from all over the world, from Indonesia to England. Some of these audiovisual productions will be shown in the Quinta Magnólia exhibition room, further enriching the visitor experience and showing a global perspective on the concept.

Essay on the Human Conjuncture
The human conjuncture is a complex and ever-changing landscape, shaped by a multitude of factors. Our environment, social interactions, and individual choices all contribute to this intricate tapestry. As we navigate this complex world, we are constantly confronted with challenges and opportunities that demand our attention and action.
In recent years, the human conjuncture has been particularly marked by a series of daunting challenges. Climate change, social inequality, and political instability threaten the very foundation of our societies. More recently, the specter of war has re-emerged, reminding us of the devastating cost of conflict and the fragility of peace. War serves as a stark reminder of the interconnectedness of our world and the urgent need for collective action. It tests our capacity for empathy, cooperation, and resilience, exposing the deep fractures within human society.
Yet, amidst these challenges, there are also glimmers of hope. The human conjuncture is not solely defined by hardship. We have witnessed remarkable progress in technology, medicine, and communication. These advancements have opened up new possibilities for collaboration, innovation, and understanding. Technology, for example, allows us to document war in real-time and mobilize humanitarian aid on a global scale.
The human conjuncture is a dynamic and evolving system. Our success in navigating this intricate landscape hinges on our ability to adapt, learn, and cooperate. We must find peaceful solutions to conflict, embrace sustainable practices, and build a future based on equity and justice. By working together, we can overcome the challenges of war and create a world that is more peaceful, resilient, and filled with hope.
